I imagine the passing game will get important game reps this week versus Dixie.

 

Following that game in the 1A games, I would come out passing it every week. Maybe get an early score or two running to get up but then through pass after pass after pass till the one's leave the field. You almost have to pass it on every play. If you let Vocke have two running plays, he is going to score on one and the offense is off the field. That is what happened versus E-town. The big plays by Vocke and the turnovers led to 37-0 before half the stadium was in their seats. Then you look bad if you start throwing it around. So they need to come out throwing it. Of course the one game they did throw it around a lot was at Holmes and look at the battle you ended up with there. But these 1A schools aren't going to have Holmes talent on defense so I say throw it early and often. I agree with you that they need game reps. One, to get timing and experience in game conditions. Two, and most importantly, for the receivers and the QB to gain confidence in what they can do.

 

I do see some signs of it coming together. It starts with getting a couple of bread and butter plays that are your go to passing plays. That is happening. Once you get a couple of plays that you can count on, you can build it from there. Just keep working and it will happen.

Several of us were listening to the Coc Cath Highlands game and the announcers talked about their opinion of Bw and they felt that Bw was too 1 dimensional. Having watched Bw film I felt they are not yet comfortable when throwing.

TP............you are bang on. Get more reps, use the tight ends and get Vocke (or Nussbaum) into space and that gets the comfort and confidence levels up.

Etown is terrible....

 

Defensively they have been. Offensively, they can put up points but they just haven't been able to stop anybody. Bardstown head coach, David Clark, said after playing them last week that they were the most explosive team they had faced the past couple of years. Their QB, Kyle Todd, my be the best true passer in the state. E-town won't be down for long, though.

E-town scored 1 TD against the Beechwood 1s. The other points were scored by the E-town 1s on the Beechwood 2s. Overall, the Beechwood 2s did a nice job on the E-town 1s.

#45 for Beechwood had a nice defensive game. He had an impressive pick 6 early in the game along with some nice hits and tackles throughout the game.

Agree. At first I was surprised the E-town 1's stayed in the game, but then I realized they may not have had enough 2's. Another thing, it could have been to make the score look more respectable or to perhaps work on some stuff, but I wasn't so sure about the onside kicks against the 2's. Oh well, ta gotta do what ya gotta do.
