Wow! Glad to know quality loses even if blow-outs are better than less quality wins! Not saying that Russell County is better but they do deserve more respect. Madisonville has wins over teams that are 2-2, 2-2,0-5,and 0-4 combined with a loss.....hmmmm impressive!!! Franklin Simpson has wins over 2-3, 2-3,2-3 and a quality blow out loss of 28 pts....wow! equally impressive. Ashland with wins over teams 2-3,2-3,1-4 an Ohio team and a loss to a unknown WV team. Wow equally impressive! Johnson Central and Knox Central have records that we dont know about because they play out of state teams but each have that good quality loss. Now we come to Western......lets see now they beat a 1-4 team by 3, and beat a 1-4 team by 15, but they do have two quality blow out losses ......outstanding resume!!!!!! The only thing that could make Russell County's resume better would be a quality blow out loss!!!! Come on guys ,if the names were hidden with only the records and scores shown,,, all of you would pick Russell County over either all or most of these teams......hands down!

Just so people can compare Russell County has 5 wins and no quality losses ......2-3 team 5-A, 1-3 team 5-A, 3-3 team 5A, 3-3 team5-A and 1-3 team 4-A........as one can see no teams from lower divisions and no QUALITY LOSSES

Failed to mention that Western's 2-2 record also include the wins that are against teams that are 1-4 and 1-4......That makes a Western with 2 blow out losses and two narrow wins over two teams with a combined record of 2-8.......hmmmmm how many blind study teams would be in top 10 with that resume ???????????

I just watched the John Hardin/Lex Cath highlights. Lex Cath is fast and their qb has great skills. They would dispose of Cov Cath easily IMO and would give the Birds fits. They are scary offensively. Their pass defense is a little suspect, but otherwise a legitimate contender for the 4a title.

My question is who would you replace Russell County with in the poll?

 

#7 Western is 2-2 but wins over Louisville Male and Ballard and the losses coming to 4A #1 Highlands and 3A #1 Central

 

Western goes without a second thought. No team with two iffy wins and two blowout losses belongs in the top ten. They looked completely lost against Highlands all night and I'm thinking that the fact that they're a Louisville school weighed heavily in all of the early hype. Based on what I saw, I can't imagine how bad Male and Ballard must be this year.

Nothing will convice me that last years Lexington Catholic team was not a top 10 or even a top 5 team in 4A with not 2 but 4 blow out losses. Some teams are just much better than every one else in their class. Just last year the State Championship scores where. 47-6 , 42-0, 46-7, 50-0, & 30-0

I disagree with #2 and #3. Lexington Catholic put 37 on a John Hardin defense that blanked Boyle. Lex Cath may very well shock all of 4a this year. If they meet the Birds' date=' it looks to be a shootout for the state title.[/quote']

So why did a very young CovCath team blow out LexCath 54-21 last year?

Can we get Western out and put Rockcastle at #5 right ahead of Johnson Central in the 9-28 rankings?

I'm really glad that Knox Central is in the top ten, but I really believe that both Russle Co. and Rockcastle have better teams and will be victorious over the Panthers in distict play.

So how are the first round of the playoffs shaping up?
