Just want to let the RAM fans know that the 7th grade RAMS went to Greenup Co and come out with a 12-8 win.

0-0 at half.

12-0 untill the Muskateers scored with 10.9 seconds left in the game. Still undefeated!!

Found out that the 8th grade RAMS came from behind in the second half and also beat the Greenup Co Musketeers. Great job RAMs!

If any of you guys are around early give me a yell. I'll be the coach w a gotee probably crying because they are honoring our 1st ever final 4 team (my Jr year) before the game. This will be the 1st team ever honored at LC. 20 years ago and still one of the biggest emotional cinderella runs in state history. Should be an article in the ADI Thurs maybe Fri.

I'm really glad we are playing Raceland again. Probably the best respectful rivalry LC had in the past. We won our biggest game ever my Soph year. I think Raceland won 45-44 my Jr year. Then we rolled into Raceland my Sr year 7-0 and lost 3-0 for our only loss that year. Always a ton of respect between the kids+coaches. I got to see Coach Ross a couple of years ago and tell him as a foe how much respect I had for him playing against him. He also wrote us a letter the year we went to the final 4. I also coached Gerad Parker who coached at Raceland and love the support the communitty has there for the program. Safe travels and hope for a great game!

Thanks guys. I'll post Friday morning and let you guys know where we can meet up at the game. I would like to tailgate before the game or at least get there in time to talk to all the guys from the final 4 team (I didn't play that year), but as of now i'm working in Beckley WV and i'm not sure what time i'll be getting there Friday night. I'll post something soon though.

Jude and Stick1, I guess by my screen name, you realize I am the team doctor. I dress like and travel as a coach so I'll be there early enough to meet you guys. Just ask Ram which one I am or ask a Raceland person where Doc is and they'll point you to me. I look forward to meeting you and to renewing this rivalry.

Thank you stick and btw it is good to hear from you on here again. I certainly remember those games that you mentioned, they were certainly h,s. football at its best, the way the game is supposed to be played. There were some played in the 70's that were the same way (I remember the old Louisa football field, had only one goal post and teams had to switch ends of the field for the xp and that didn't take away from the game one bit). I honestly don't think that either was the better team on those paticular nights , just one had the higher number on the scoreboard at games end.

G. Parker was a great coach/off. coordinator at Raceland, the kids loved him and would have "ran through a brick wall for him" I look for Gerad to keep advancing in his coaching carrer, I am pretty sure that now he is at Marshall as a WR coach.

 

I wish that I could be there but as most know mobility/health restrictions keep me from it. I keep hoping that one day I'll be able to go to games again. At one time I had some kind of streak going in not missing a Raceland football game, home or away and no matter the distance. The LC games were some of the best.

As of now i'm still in Beckley. If i get there in time i'll be out in front of the gate talking to the guys before the game. If i get there late i'll walk over to the Raceland side at the start of halftime. I'll be wearing the black and red jacket (like everyone else) and a black and red kyle busch hat. I am a harvick fan but my son bought the hat for me so i will wear it. I'm about 6'2" 270 lbs with a mustache (yes i still sport the stache)and 37 years old. I shouldn't be that hard to find.

This was also in yesterdays Ashland paper talking about what a great rivarly this game used to be. I know the 3 years I started it was outstanding competition. Soph year was biggest win ever for LC at the time. Jr year we lost 35-34 in a barnburner. Sr year we were 7-0 going into Raceland and that's the only game we lost all year 3-0! Lots of rescpect for TJ + the Ram communitty. We always respected Bill Tom + the guys we played against. The had kids that could fly like Newman, Stewart then physical kids like Bostic! Doc I know Mike Salmmons well, he can point me out.
