Good news? All downhill from this one.

Colerain fullback ran for 226 yards. Used to be their QB.

 

He would not be a fullback on many teams. He is very fast. As in very, very fast.

He ran well against Cocoa.

IMO, this is probably the worst Colerain team I have seen in the past few years. They have tons of young talent but thats just it, the talent is young. They will be much better at the end of the year but by then they will have 2 losses and be in jeapordy of not making the playoffs.

Hmmm..I'm curious. We've just gotten by Cocoa and Ryle...who do you think the two losses are going to be to?

Good to learn that a 6A school losing by 37 is not that bad. Also Ryle defense played well, although the fullback had 226 yards for Colerain. Now I remember why 80+% of the Kentucky high school teams make the playoffs.

St. X and Middletown.

The QB is a JR and last night was his second start at QB...ever. He is a transfer from Lakota West and was a RB up there last year as a Sophomore.

 

Passing is a relatively new thing for Colerain. When you beat teams by 5 TD's, passing isn't all that necessary, know what I mean? He throws a real nice ball and is comfortable in the pocket and on the run. He just needs time to work with his receivers and better read the routes. All in due time.

 

I was more impressed with Colerain's defense. Once again, they dominated their opponent as Ryle was never really a threat to score. As the defense improves throughout the season, they will be well positioned come playoff time.

And I'm not even going to write-off the St. Xavier game. It's at home at the Cards have a way of playing very well at home.

 

Should be a fun week of preparation.

Couldn't agree more. This kid would most likely start at Colerain. VERY sound defensively and hit like a truck. He has nothing to hang his head about today, he did his job real well.

I hope you're right but I just don't see it. I think the Colerain squad was better 2 years ago when Middletown should have beaten them at Colerain and IMO, this years Middletown team is much better than they were that year. I think Colerain is gonna have to get a whole lot better on offense in order to beat St X and Middletown and losing Chris Davis isn't going to help.

I have to give a shout out to the whole Colerain organization for their hospitality and willingness to accommodate our team and coaches last night. In the 7 years I have been traveling with our team, the people at Colerain were as great to work with as any we have run across. Hope you will feel the same next year when you guys come to our place.
