So how does the Highlands vs. CovCath matchup look now?

Featured Replies

I think HHS has a lot to be worried about right now.

Like what? In your opinion...

I think we need to wait until CCH plays some real competition to make an educated guess. Ask the same question Saturday at 1pm.

Why do you fret so much over games down the road? Both teams will focus on their next opponents, and when HHS/CovCath week gets here, they will prepare to play each other.

Enough with the coachspeak. This site would not be in existence if we couldnt speculate on things.

The one game at a time crap is nauseating.

This is 2011 not 07,08,09 and 10.. CovCath will be a challenge for the Birds no doubt..I look for this to be a very good game..

I am missing something or wasn't last year's game a challenge for them? 27 -20 with CovCath having a chance to tie or win as time expired.

I don't know if CovCath has what it takes to beat Highlands or not. I think tomorrow will give us a real indication of that. I do know that Highlands was challenged last year, and that the disparity in talent is not what it was during the 07 and 08 seasons. Highlands (rightfully so) is the overwhelming favorite in just about every game they play against NKY teams. However, I don't think the gap between CovCath and Highlands is nearly as wide as some may think. A big part of Highlands success is the doubt that their opponents have about being able to compete with them. I think Ryle showed last year, once that hurdle is overcome you can play your game and your don't have to play a perfect game to compete. I think after last year's game CovCath believes they can compete and win if they play to their ability.

That was last year, this is a different year. CCH hasnt beaten a formidable opponent yet. If they beat LaSalle this weekend I may have a different viewpoint. Highlands showed last night why they will roll.

Win? probably. Roll? nah. It'll be a vintage version of the rivalry, IMO.

Dixie's offense did much better against Cov Cath than it did against Highlands.

That being said teams are still settling in for the season, as of right now I would say Highlands rolls, but that can change.
