Nelson's defense is shaky, but they'll be able to put some points on the board.

Franklin County 35 Nelson Co 13 Franklin Co has plenty of weapons on offense. Defense also looked pretty solid at the first scrimmage.

Are they still running the triple or have they gone to Tony Franklin's stuff? For some reason it seems like I had heard they were doing Tony's stuff this year.

They've been trying to make the full switch to the shotgun spread for a couple of years, but circumstance got in the way. They had the QB and receivers for it '09, but abandoned it midway through because of the incessant rains made the spread impractical, switching back to the option (and winning 3 of their last 4) and an option QB. They started out last season with the option because that QB was a senior, but when he got hurt midway through the season, they ended up going back to the spread again because the backup was a passing QB.

 

NC is now fully embracing the shotgun spread, and apparently they looked very good in their scrimmage against E'town.

That I do not know. I do know they have switched things up from a more conservative philosophy to a more gambling-type defense, but other than that, I got nothing.

Nelson is playing the old Male defense. They will bring the house on almost every play. Nelson is relying on their corners to lock up recievers Man to Man, and they have a lot of speed on the corners, but I believe Timmons will beat them all night long.
