Breds have gotten to Shepard for 7 runs thus far as they lead 7-0. This has been a very long 2nd inning for Chandler Shepard. Plenty of game left though.

 

Breds scored all 7 in the bottom of 2nd.

I'm shocked Sheppard has been hit this hard.

I was not impressed with Sheppard at all.

 

Watching on the internet, from the first inning, it looked like he was questioning balls/strikes. Hit two batters (could/should have been 3, I would have argued the ball hit the batter on the wrist, not the hand for a foul ball). Walked numerous batters....

 

Where is Lawrence Co located? Is their competition this weak or is this just an 'off game' for Sheppard and the team? The announcers are saying they were one of the favorites to when the State? Are you kidding me?

Shephard also has a throwing error at SS. Something seems "off" for such a stat rich player.

Shepherd is a talented young man; yet with the weak competition that Lawrence County faced, it's hard to evaluate his pitching effectiveness. Pitching statistics would be quite skewed or biased if the competition was very weak that he pitched against.

 

Shepherd seemed to throw a lot of curve balls. The highest that I heard a fastball velocity was 89, once. He seemed to be 84-88. They stopped announcing velocity in the second inning for him.

Way not impressed with the pitcher that NCC wasn't supposed to be able to hit. 9-0 in the 3rd inning

P.S. What is up with the John Randle eye black on the LC relief pitcher? Maybe it fires him up. Looks kinda silly to me in baseball (particularly down 9-0).
