There is some intrinsic value in having a guy that has shown he can produce as an everyday player. If Heisey can do that on a regular basis, then he's worth keeping. I'm not sure his resume indicates that he will. And that doesn't even factor in Ludwick playing half his games in Petco while Heisey plays in a much more hitter-friendly environment.
