Right. They knew they would be arrested and they taped it for attention.

Not all who were taping were with these people, plus it doesn't matter.

SIMPLE! Because these guys didn't know how to handle it properly, they made the scene worse by what they did, and to even think of telling people "If you don't stop recording you will be arrested". A lot of the people recording were just visitors, NO ONE has the right to tell them to stop recording, this isn't a police state, yet.

 

PLUS, ALL they got were citations anyway for protesting without a permit, that could have been done a lot more quietly on site.

If that is what you got out of what I said then you are clearly trying to put other things into what I said! The officers could have handled it A LOT better! Again I ask about the video taping, I guess it's okay to tell people if they continue to record they would be arrested? Including visitors who were not with these people. Recordings HELP both sides! An account for everything that happens, but if one side forces people to stop recording, I would say they do not know what they are doing, and I would worry and be concerned, as everyone else should be as well.

That doesn't tell me why the no dancing law exists, just what the friends were doing and what the police did.

Now, read slowing and maybe you will get what I am saying this time, ALL that happen to them after being arrested was being cited for demostrating without a permit, and RELEASED! They could have done a better job and not have made this scene worse, and they could have taken them aside, ask for ID and cite them there.

 

And no, there is no law saying you cannot videotape or take photos there or at any monument! Again, as I said in my first post in this thread, this was the most alarming thing of the entire event, as I also said, video helps both sides, not only the protesters. This is where I say they should have called their superiors.

I know, I was just trying to put some of the background up on why this group was there. I can't find anything on why the law is there.

They told them to stop and they didn't. How were they going to take them to the side if they wouldn't even stop dancing. If they were willing to do what you say then they would have stopped dancing.

Pretty much the way I saw it. Another thing that seems to be missed is when cops encounter a group this size it adds another factor to the situation. When it comes time to start cuffing people you can never be to careful because you never know how people are going to react.
