Lopez is only really going to help a team as a second baseman, and that position is safely occupied in Cincinnati. Lopez doesn't do enough offensively to be a real contributor at third base.

Lopez has a career on-base percentage under .300 and a career slugging percentage under .400 ... for a third baseman, those are terrible offensive numbers.

He's in the midst of back to back seasons where he has hit .239 and currently .208. The league has figured out that he swings at anything thrown between the 2 on deck circles. He has walked 26 times in his last 718 plate appearances.
