Ryle vs. CCH cancelled today. Trying to find a field to play tomorrow, as Ryle varsity has home game scheduled.

HHS plays Dixie @ Boone County at 5:00 today. Winner of that game plays Boone @ Dixie after. Kinda weird, but Dixie has a home varsity game at 5:00.

Does Boone have lights? If yes, why wouldn't Boone simply play the winner of HHS v. Dixie at Boone right after the 1st game is over? If no, I understand.

Surprised that Ryle didn't give up the varsity game at Ryle, to move that game to CovCath, than to move the JV tourney game to CovCath! Is the CovCath vs. Ryle varsity game your senior day Coop? I mean the varsity is just a regular season game were as the JV game is the Tourney game!

I also agree, I was very suprised the JV tourney game was not given first priority.

Boone beats Dixie 13-10.

 

Dixie beat HHS 11-2 in the game prior. Game was tied 1-1 after 2. Decent showing by the JV Dirty Birds, but the Dixie bats were just too much over the full 7 innings. Props to #32 for Dixie for pitching a complete game. His pitch count had to be pretty high and he looked winded, but I am sure the Dixie JV Coach didn't want to have to use another arm if he could avoid it knowing he had to go up the street to play Boone Co. immediately after.

 

Future is bright for the Dirty Birds. Starting lineup for the JV Tourney game included 3 8th Graders, 4 Frosh and 2 Sophs (3 if you include the DH). Starting pitcher was a Frosh and the reliever was an 8th Grader.

 

Consider that several Sophs see major playing time for the Varsity and the Frosh squad consisted of 7th & 8th graders only (no actual Frosh), most of whom have had terrific success at each level they have played at summer ball, and Coach Baioni appears to have the raw material to make some noise over the next few years. Keep 'em playing and make 'em better. Fort Thomas Bulldogs (Frosh / Soph) and Fort Thomas Wildcats (7th / 8th) summer teams in the SWOL should help that.

I don't think there are any 7th graders on the NKy Wildcats. I know there are a few that play on the Ky Crush (aka Bluegrass Blast). The Crush play an independent schedule made up of mostly SWOL Upper American and National League teams.

Question. I know where the Wildcats from last year played, but what division did the Bulldogs play in? Were they in the SWOL?

As to your question, I really don't know. I can't say I disagree with your thinking, but I'm sure Coach Demler and Coach Roesel worked it out between themselves.
