Great memories. I really loved Coney at night. I do think the ferry ride was one of my favorites parts of the experience.

We went for many years to Coney, but never took the ferry. Wish we had.

Panda, thanks for sharing the pics and the memories!

Gotta agree with you. I think they should bring it back...just for the heck of it. Of course, they'd have to dig out the old entrance to the landing, from all the weeds and trees that have grown over it.
In case anyone is wondering: the ferry took people from a landing in Silver Grove, across the Ohio river, and let them off at a special, castle-like, entrance to Coney Island.

No problem, I enjoyed the trip down memory lane myself.

We own one of the original passenger ferry's that was used at Coney Island. We somehow bought this thing from B&B Riverboats a few years back. It was sinking and needed to come out of the water. It now sits on timbers here at our yard @ work. It actually is still in decent shape...

Besides the sinking part....LOL!

It would be so cool if it was able to be somehow put back into service. Holds a lot of memories for us "old-timers." One thing I remember is the orange lifejackets stuffed up in the rafters along each side, above the seats.
