Congratulations to senior Troy Timmerman who became CovCath fourth winner of the prestigious "That's My Boy" award. The award is given annually to the top scholar-athlete in the Greater Cincinnati area. It is named after 1989 graduate Brian Williams who died tragically in the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks.

Miami University head football coach Don Treadwell was the keynote speaker at the 44th National Football Foundation’s “That’s My Boy” Award banquet March 3 at the Westin Cincinnati.

The award is based upon the accumulation of points in three areas: football achievement (s), academic achievement, and extracurricular and community activities.

The finalists for Northern Kentucky were Daniel Gold, Highlands; Damian Oden, Holmes; Matt Schafer, Cooper; and CovCath's very own Troy Timmerman.

In his acceptance speech, Troy noted what a great place Cov Cath is and how friendly the hallways are. He thanked his family, the school's administration, and all of his fellow teammates and classmates who have helped him.

Troy will be attending the United States Air Force Academy next year and indeed congratulation young man, Theoldguy tips his hat to you!

Congratulations to Troy Timmerman! What an honor. Nice parents, terrific family.

Congrats to Troy! Nice way to cap off a good year.:thumb:

As far as extracurriculars go I must say the kid is a solid actor and singer.

!

Any kid that gets this nomination should have all of our respect. This is a tough nomination to earn.

Well done, gentlemen.

Congrats to all the young men. To be nominated is an honor...to win it is outstanding!

Congratulations and good luck to him in the future!

Way to go big guy. Can't wait to see the haircut he'll get at USAFA.

If I am not mistaken, I believe this is the 2nd or 3rd winner of this very prestigious award to have played for Coach Wirth. Didn't he have 1 or 2 players win this while he was at Badin?

Congratulations Troy!
