Lewis County 63 Boyd County 60

Featured Replies

The one point can't be used as a non excuse cause that could change the game dramatically, take the one point difference away and give it back to Boyd County. They are in the lead by 1 point with the ball with 20 seconds to go & Lewis County would be fouling at that point instead of letting Boyd bring it up and turn it over. Referees could'nt do there job, and the score keepers had to help too.

Thats not necessarily the case, they would pressure the ball for a few seconds then foul and that's exactly what they did except they didn't foul they created a turnover. The point was meaningless.

I believe it was never corrected.

Mr. March had alot of Help from the men in stripes.

I don't have anyone in Boyd or Lewis so my statement is certainly not in favor of one or the other. I wasn't there but I have seen very few games in my time that officials actually cost a team a game. This game was decided by three points. Not knowing any stats but did BC miss more than three free throws? How many turnovers did Boyd have and did any of those lead directly to Lewis scoring? Did BC miss any easy/open shots? All that I am saying is that there are many things during a game that if a person would take a look at could have been played better that would easily have turned the games outcome. Instead of looking at those costly mistakes, people tend to go directly to the officials to place blame. Officials make mistakes, that's part of it. I would say that without seeing the game that there must have been some calls that Lewis thought were bad as well.

I am not trying to singl you out personally, this kind of thing happens, has happened and will always happen in alot of games with all schools, all locations. I just don't like to or hear anyone blame officiating on deciding the outcome of a game.

Congrats to Lewis County on the win and good luck in the semi's.

Congrats to Boyd Co. as well on getting to the regional tournament, there were plenty of teams that didn't make it to Morehead.

I was at the game and agree that shots were missed, but the last 30 seconds of the game with refereeing was horrible and the 1 point if corrected could have made a difference, these people (referees and score keepers )are paid to do a job and it was done poorly.

Almost all (except a few in the BBA) complain about their officials and now they switch regions every year in regionals and people still complain. There is no correct answer to fix this problem and there won't ever be.

:cry::cry::cry:

Bottom-line is that Boyd got the best possible draw they could have wished for and still choked. Several missed free throws, multiple turnover, and a big dude dressed in red yelling at the refs from the bleachers after every call.

Boyd will get another chance next year they will be a good bit better than Rose Hill or Fairview.

If you say that point was meaningless you must know VERY little if any at all about basketball. Sure, the Lewis Co. kid may have made the shot anyway, but ANYBODY that has played will tell you that it is MUCH easier to shoot a last second shot with the score TIED than it is BEHIND by 1 point!!! Come on, MEANINGLESS!!! You'd better think about that!!!

That's fine, I wasn't trying to go at you personally and was just talking in general terms.. I was not there so I cannot argue with you on any call/calls. I was just saying that kind of thing happens everywhere and most if not all of the time a person can look at the scorebook/stats and see where a game was won or lost.

Thought Lewis would win by 15. Boyd showed heart. Congrats to both teams! Lewis better be shooting at about 55+% to win the next one!

:thumb: I agree, I thought that Lewis would win this one by a larger margin as well.

Not so sure about fairview.

Me neither, I know Coach Cooksey Jr. will get the best out of his team regardless.
