Highlands 65 East Carter 33

East Carter has the smallest line-up I have ever seen for a high school basketball team. The center was announced at 6'2", he was their tallest player-maybe 6' if he was lucky. The rest of the team was 5'6" to 5'8". I am surprised that they have won as many games as their record indicates. It is just so hard to compete with such a size disadvantage.

HHS coasted to the victory on senior night.

It is hard to believe EC has over 10 wins with their size and limited athleticism. Egan was en fuego on his final night at the Birdsnest.

Now to get focused on Districts.

Did Flynn empty the bench at the end of the game? Any Frosh get in the game?

About 4 min left he started taking the Srs out separately so they could get an ovation. Houliston was the only frosh to get in. It was a great night where all the program coaches and most players showedto get recognized at halftime 6th grade - Frosh. After the game they had a reception in the cafeteria honoring all the teams as each coach talked about their season. There are some promising teams coming up through the system. 8th grade coach Mike Vories summed the future success up perfectly imploring the parents and players to WORK on their game in the offseason! Not just when football or soccer ends.

Saw in the box score that Houliston scored a bucket

I dont think that is correct. He had a bust out on a steal and got nervous losing the ball as he was about to score and luckily saved it. Donovan McCoy scored the last bucket of the game so maybe they gave Houliston credit for it much to Donovan's chagrin. :)

Here is the boxscore from Kentucky.com looks correct.

Looks like they got his name right.

I believe they play way above their talent level. I think the 16th region has some really good basketball coaches, but I believe that East has the best in Baker. I guess it didn't matter too much against Highlands, but EC is way better this year than I would have though considering all they have lost from last year.

Baker seems like a good coach and was frustrated on the bench but at the same time seemed under control and during timeouts looked like he was still encouraging the kids but at the same time giving them a little chewing.
