Policewomen of Cincinnati on TLC

Featured Replies

Have any of you caught this show yet? I watched last night and its not bad. I thought the domestic call where the 28 yr old lady with the pregnant 13 yr old was disturbing. That could be the youngest Grandma on the planet.

My wife and I were talking about the same thing. She could be a great grandmother before she is 45.

I thought the show as a whole was pretty cool.

I set the DVR to record all future 'Policewomen of Cincinnati' episodes. I thought they all had pretty good personalities. I don't think the one liked being called 'baby'!

Yeah, the 28 year old Grandma looked like she had been around the block a time or two. She's not aging to gracefully!

The cool thing (for me anyway).. is that one of them is a Conner graduate (that I graduated with). Nice girl (even though it looks like they are trying to play her out as being a little rough).

As far as the show goes ... I was a little put off. I think that it either makes women cops look like it is more about having a chip on their shoulder as opposed to just doing a very tough job. (I know, I know--I just feel like male cops get as much flack as the women do--purely my opinion).

Tia is awesome. Officer calls for assistance during a traffic stop, he stands behind his door, gun drawn. She pulls her gun, walks right up to the vehicle and starts "handling it". Male cop is still at the back of the vehicle. The one domestic violence call where the girl threatened to kill herself would've been handled completely incorrectly if it wasn't for her. At least it was portrayed that way on camera.

Which one?

Which one?

Colleen, the blonde.

She's also the one who called the guy "hon" a few times and then flipped when he called her "baby."

The show itself is entertaining. It's amazing how bad some areas of Cincinnati really can be. Overall, I enjoyed the show but it confirmed to me what I had always suspected. Many women police officers have a HUGE chip on their shoulder at all times.

My wife said she was listening to the radio and a caller said, "I don't like the show, it portrays Over-the-Rhine as a bad neighborhood." You mean the worst area in the country?

The one that got mad was Mandy.

Colleen is the one on the vice squad.

While there are certainly some bad areas in OTR it falls way short of "worst area in the country."

In 2009 a website, using data collected from 2005 to 2007, ranked a section of Over-the-Rhine north of Liberty Street as, statistically, the "most dangerous neighborhood in the United States."[200][202][203] Critics, however, argue that the statistic is "intellectually dishonest"[204] because the data selected to represent Over-the-Rhine focused on a "mostly vacant industrialized strip,"[205] and the data used by the website was "old."[200][204] In July 2009 a rise in prostitution was reported along McMicken Avenue; police said that new development is pushing the women out of other parts of Over-the-Rhine into a smaller area.

Compton called. They laugh at "statistically."

Southeast DC doesn't even recognize the word.
