I'd say it looks like Larkin will get in within the next couple years.

Alomar was a no-brainer IMO.

Listening to it on MLB.com, they said next year's class is really weak and Larkin would get in easily.

Long overdue for Blyleven. His failure to be elected had me questioning the competency of the Hall voters. Glad to see him get in.

Larkin finished with 62.1%, needed 75%.

That is a nice jump in numbers for Larkin. I will be very surprised if he is not elected next year.

Do his numbers get better next year? No they are still the same he should have been in on 1st ballot. MLB voting is stupid. If he is a HOFer then vote him in first time.

"Frontrunners Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven were both elected to Cooperstown, and Larkin received a whopping 62.1 percent of the vote (75 percent is required for election), establishing him as the candidate-in-waiting" for enshrinement next year."

HOF voting is whack.

The problem is that voters treat it as a "relative" measure . Instead of a black or white "is he good enough to be in" they add qualifiers such as "first time worthy" or "only so many can get in at once" or "who else is in his class." Doesn't make sense.

Larkin will get in next year and yet no one will be able to give you a straight answer to as to "why now?"

Who in the world voted for Benito Santiago? How did Marquis Grisson get 4 votes?

I put in other thread as well, but how did anybody vote for Benito Santiago and how did Marquis Grissom get four votes?
