Warren Central 36 Christian County 35

Featured Replies

Central comes from 21 DOWN to pull this one out!!! :scared: :D

Central trailed 35-14 going into the fourth quarter and kicked a field goal at the end to win it.

After Christian County got pasted from Marshall County a few weeks ago, my hat goes off to the Colonels for bouncing back. It takes a lot of guts to not lay down after that game and they have my upmost respect!

This one series had to be one of the most entertaining of 2005 if not THE most entertaining series this year!! Imagine, Central won both games, but the point total was Central 78, Christian Co 75!  It also says a lot about how superbly talented Central is this year...Christian Co definitely saved its best for last, and Central was able to overcome it (barely) both times! Hats off to both squads for giving us a whole bunch of memories of great football this season...with both games being within four games of each other!! :ylsuper:

Also, hats off to Warren Co High School Football this season...for the first time ever, we had two teams each win Region Championships in the same year!! Both BGHS and Central win Region One, each with 12-1 records! :thumb: :D

Congrats on what sounds like a great comeback for the dragons!

WC fans where will the showdown be with X (LT stadium or WC) Congrats on the great win.

There is some talk of a potential doubleheader at WKU ... it would be a great night of football.

I'm sure that, if I don't post it, DragonFire will if the game is played at WKU or if it'll be a DH at WKU. :D

Word around here is that it will be at Central. They feel they earned home field, and it should be played on their home field.

What a game. I am not ashamed to admit that when they got down three TD's that I said it was over. I was already trying to console myself and say that we had had a good year. Unbelievable comeback. Largest 4th quarter comeback in Warren Central history, BY FAR. Central had a 62 yard TD pass on 4th and 21 to draw within 8 points. They had 4 scores in the 4th quarter and allowed one Christian County first down in getting back into the game. Cobb shanked one of the extra points, but the field goal was a no-doubter. The kid has ice water in his veins when it comes to last second kicks. He had a game winner against Marshall County earlier in the year. Christian tried to freeze him with 3 straight timeouts, no dice. Central moves to 12-1 for the third time in school history. The last time they were 12-1, was 1989. The team they played in the semifinal round that year? St. X. At Central.

And for proponents of reducing the # of teams in the playoffs, this is an example of why not to. That was a #4 seed that was just as likely to be in the Final 4 now. Sure, 99.9% of the 4 seeds may lose right away, but it's that one that can make a run that you shouldn't deny.

Nice run in the playoffs for Christian, most people counted them out. Alot of the Colonels will be returning in 2006 including potential Mr. Football Candidate Tandy.
