I was under the impression that they did present the appeal, but they asked that the ruling be put off until they presented the "new information" to the NCAA. From what I understand, they made the appeal the same day as the Cam Newton decision. They presented the appeal in the AM & the Cam Newton info came out in the PM. When that happened, UK asked to go back to the NCAA & for the appeals committee to wait to issue their ruling.

Correct! They presented their case to the appeals board that Wednesday morning, then a few hours later the Newton thing was heard by the NCAA and UK quickly called the NCAA and asked the appeals board to hold off that they were going to ask to re-present their case.

Unless, I misunderstood Matt Jones talked to some reporter from Boston, MA and he said the NCAA will come out late today and it will proabably not go Kanter's way! Also, he said that the appeal we maid before we resubmitted to the NCAA and it looks likes that the Kanters and UK may have to take this process to the Courts!

Unless, I misunderstood Matt Jones talked to some reporter from Boston, MA and he said the NCAA will come out late today and it will proabably not go Kanter's way! I don't believe anyone who says they they know/heard how the NCAA will rule on this at all! Now, if someone says that UK will know the ruling around a date I can see that, as UK may have been informed to expect word by a certain date. I have heard for about a week it will be this week, or early next week.

 

Also, a couple of weeks ago the NCAA stated they are working with UK on a "solution", So the NCAA may be looking for a way out of the mess they created and let him play eventually. But again we are talking about the NCAA, so they may even go back on those words too.

Jeff Goodman has the goods (pun intended) on the Kanter situation. Appeal is being heard today & a ruling should come shortly after.

I may be in the minority, but I am rooting for the suspension for the rest of the season, and Enes following up with his dad's pledge to play next season. I am the ultimate glass half empty type guy, and I do not want Kanter's presence mess with team chemistry right now and more importantly want to see how nasty UK can be next year

 

With that said, I will gladly take him on the team either this year or the next. I don't ever see him suiting up for the Cats.
