With that said though, outside of Goose, the Dixie bench has a lot to work on.

 

Ashland was able to cut in to the lead several times with Pike, Stansberry, Hatton, or Trammel out of the game.

Game wasn't very close after the first minute of the 2nd quarter.

 

Buddy got whacked and had to sit the last 3 quarters which doesn't look easy for him to do. He's active on the sideline.

 

Ashland has a nice team and they run a nice offense.

Buddy must have forgot he wasn't at home.

RC - AGREE 100%! One would think that with 3 sports reporters that claim they cover NKY prep sports, every game could have some type of coverage or at least a box score. But noooooooo, 90% of the stories on NKY.com are negative and will never change.....prep sports is one of the few positive daily activites that go on in this country! BGP members should demand better coverage :irked:

I think the days of the hard copy are dwindling...most people pop online to check out scores and such.

 

At the bare minimum, I don't think posting box scores on a website is asking too much.

 

I can assure that tourney's in Lexington and Louisville are getting covered.

Walter, I can't speak for what's in the daily paper today...on Monday this week (via the web page NKY.com), Weber posted about how excited he was to be back and was looking forward to covering the Kenton Classic....haven't seen a darn thing about this tournament. With 2 kids active in sports, BGP and other web sites are my news source. Merry Christmas!!!

I just think it's ashame these out of town teams travel x amount of hours and spend 3 days in NKY, only to head back to the hotel and not be able to find any local coverage on the games.

While Dixie is playing well right now and it hasn't been a factor, they certainly could use a couple of players to step up.

 

As mentioned earlier, Cohorn should be solid as the year progresses.

 

Harris is a very capable scorer and has historically had a very nice perimeter shot...I think he'll find his mojo.

 

Evans could be a factor if he ratchets up the defense. He has a nice shot and athletic ability.

 

Muntis is nursing a hand injury (along with Stansberry) and hopefully will provide some help on the inside/ boards.

 

I really think Dixie will get better as the year moves along...when they get everyone healthy along with getting certain players more varsity experience, it will only help the situation.

Dixie's bench is getting better. Muntis always gives good minutes and now Cohorn is contributing. Harris did a solid job last night as well. You don't need them to score. You just need them to play D and rebound. Dixie has 5 good scorers.
