He has already been paid for what he has done. He should be paid on what he is doing now and will be doing.

How is overpaying him by a huge amount doing the right thing? What exactly does Derek Jeter stand for?

According to the ESPN trailer, the club has the option of terminating him at the end of this season without having to pay the extension money.

I hate debating on this site all the time when I post something, its just the way I feel. I'm not trying to convince anyone, just expressing my feelings.

 

Ok, Derek has stood for being a True Yankee captain and he means a lot to our tradition. Just the way I feel. And a lot of baseball people feel the same way. Sorry I hijacked the thread. I will not comment on DJ again in this thread.

So the Skins are only on the hook at this point for the $3.5 bonus he just got for signing this. It's certainly not the reported $40M.

 

Seems like Mikey Brown needs to talk to the Skin's braintrust. Had he been a little smarter with his money Antonio Bryant might not have skirted out of town with all that money in his pocket.
