Betsy Layne will be hosting its first ever home playoff game this friday. They will be hosting a very tough Pineville team. This is an amazing accomplishment after last nights win against Jenkins they break the all time wins record for one season with a 7-3 record. I think with a program that was contemplating shutting down the program about 7 years ago, the Betsy Layne program is definitely stronger than it ever has been. I have to congratulate the players, coaches, and anyone that have ever wore the bobcat jersey!

According to the KHSAA information used for the new alignment, Betsy Layne had an average of 224 boys during the 2008 and 2009 school years. That will actually put them in 2A next year, in a district with Leslie County, Prestonsburg, and Shelby Valley. I know the school petitioned to stay in 1A but were unsuccessful. Very nice to see the progress the program is making and hopefully they can keep it up. Betsy Layne and Allen Central are two typically poor Floyd County teams that have made great strides of late!:thumb:

It's been a great year for both of us. Presently 6-4, Brossart guaranteed our first winning season in the history of the program.
