November 14, 201015 yr Henry said she saw a nice buck "having relations" with a doe yesterday at 4 in the afternoon in the front yard of a home on N. Ft. Thomas Ave. She was walking one of our dogs and cars were driving by. The performance couldn't have been more than 20 yds from the street. Buck didn't care as he was taking care of business. Should be a nice weekend for you deer hunters. Good luck. Had to have a cigarette after that. And I don't even smoke.
November 14, 201015 yr Any pictures yet!!! Took one with my phone, not a great shot. Had to haul it a loooooong way out and my poor back is struggling today. I did have the gumption to cape it out and will probably make him a permanent resident of our man-cave. I'll try to send it to my email and post it here.
November 15, 201015 yr I killed a nice 10 pt yesterday, opening morning. He came up the trail behind a doe about 15 minutes after. Nothing he did led me to believe he was hot on her trail. I did cheat however, I double lunged him with my .300WSM 180gr Barnes bullet. Didn't even need the rangefiner. Congrats spindoc. I saw more does the last 2 days then I have seen all year. I saw 3 bucks, all were looking for love. Had a fork horn chase a doe in front of me like she stole something. He was definitely in the mood.
November 17, 201015 yr Buddy of mine took this 9-pointer late on Saturday down in Franklin County. One of the nicest 9-pointers I've ever seen. I wasn't there, but he had a couple of hunters he was with who will attest to the fact that he plugged this guy with a double lung shot on the run from give or take 150 yards with a .243. He'd been hunting from a 250-300 yard stand all day, so he had his scope was adjusted all the way up to full strength, and he didn't have time to re-adjust, so he just had to eye-ball the shot under the scope. Field dressed him at 198 pounds.
