After watching the fight again, I just don't know if Lesnar will be as good or dominant as I thought he would. He gets hit and falls to pieces, not a good trait for a fighter............as Tyson said Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth.

Kos is someone who has improved their striking game more than anyone I have watched come up with maybe the exception of Frankie Edgar. I would say they are in the top of the class as far as guys whos games continue to evolve and improve. What you just named was the recipe for beating GSP, I think Kos could cause him some trouble for he has what you are talking about. Maybe not an excellent striker but his striking is very, very good right now and improving with each fight.

Thiago Alves is a much better striker who has beaten Kos and he couldnt outstrike GSP so I have no reason to believe Kos will have anything for him there. While he could land one of those Matt Serra punches on GSP I just think its not likely to happen.

 

Lets not forget also that the first time Kos and GSP fought Georges outwrestled him big time and was in total control on the ground. There is not one phase of the fight where Koscheck has an advantage IMO. Except for maybe trash talk.

That's the thing with GSP now that he's made wrestling the focal point of his fight strategies. He was a dynamic striker in the past, I assume he still is. I agree. If he dominates Shields, there's nothing left. Condit is getting a big bounce from his KO of Dan Hardy, so you're right. If he doesn't lose while GSP takes care of Kos and Shields, he'll likely be next GSP's next WW title defense simply because they haven't fought yet. (Nobody wants to see GSP dominate Jon Fitch again.) I don't see him winning though.

 

Actually, if GSP beats Koscheck and Shields, and Anderson Silva doesn't lose in the meantime, I think the GSP/Silva superfight will become a reality. I think that fight will happen before Condit gets a shot. And, I must say, Sonnen's performance has generated more intrigue for me. His ability to take Silva down and control the action for 5 rounds makes me give GSP a better shot in that matchup than I previously had. Silva says he was injured, but there's no way for us to know how much it affected him. So, I'm inclined to give GSP a better chance. I still think GSP will be giving up one of his biggest advantages at 170, and that is that he's bigger, stronger and more athletic than his opponents. He won't be bigger and stronger than Silva, so can he implement his game plan of taking his opponent down and controlling him. I certainly don't like his chances in the stand-up.
