Beechwood 52 Bellevue 7

Featured Replies

Classy move by Coach Rash early in the second half. It was Beechwood's last regular season home game and it was senior night. Coach called time out and then put his 9 seniors on the field together on defense. He had to do a make shift line up because several of the seniors had not played defense all year or had not played in the positions he put them in. Nevertheless, the seniors played together as a unit and did the job by forcing Bellevue to punt. It is a small thing but I am sure it meant a lot to those seniors to get to play together as a unit for the first time since freshman year.

That must have been neat to watch. Definitely something those 9 young men will never forget, even at their 50 year reunion. Nice job Coach Rash!

I wonder how Beechwoods dominance in their district will help/hurt them throught the rest of the season.

I personally think it hurts bigtime because they don't get a real chance to fix things that were exposed during the 1st few games of the season. Next year may be a bit better now that BB and WV are moving...knowing how Rash likes to schedule, I'm sure these games will, or have been, replaced with 2 really competitive opponents.

A big difference I have noticed...this time last season BW had double-digit injured/banged-up player's (crutches/casts/slings)and as far as I can tell there are none at this point (knocking on wood).

Only one that i know that is hurt for the season #53. compared to last year when alot where hurt.

Also last year alot hurt and playing through it.

And #58 out for the year also. But as you stated, not even close to the injury issues that plagued last year's team.

When I commented "no" injuries I should have clarified. Those 2 would have brought some beef (and experience) to the line, however, my comment was based on the fact niether have played a snap this season.

53 has played. Then got a knee injury in practice.

You might be correct, but I don't thnik he played. I thought his shoulder recovered and he was finally released to play...and then tore his ACL in practice 3 days later...before his 1st game.

NCC not the same team with their big fullback/linebacker out. Can't remember his name, but they will need him in the playoffs.

See the NCC/ Beechwood prediction thread ... but to help you out here, his name is Chris Kelly.

He did see some time in the Holly Cross game I believe but not much.

It was either HHS or HC, but you are correct. Both players would have brought some much needed beef.

Looks like Beechwood will be making a nice run in the post season this year.
