CLASS 2A

District 1 - Ballard Memorial, Caldwell County, Crittenden County, Murray, Reidland

District 2 - Hancock County, McLean County, Owensboro Catholic, Todd County Central, Union County

District 3 - Butler County, Clinton County, Glasgow, Green County, Metcalfe County

District 4 - Bardstown, Christian Academy-Louisville, DeSales, Fort Knox, Shawnee, Washington County

District 5 - Carroll County, Gallatin County, Owen County, Trimble County, Walton-Verona

District 6 - Bishop Brossart, Holy Cross (Covington), Lloyd Memorial, Newport, Newport Central Catholic

District 7 - Danville, Leslie County, Lexington Christian, Middlesboro, Somerset

District 8 - Betsy Layne, Prestonsburg, Russell, Shelby Valley

I think Lloyd better step it up if they want to play in another playoff game.

Considering Walton-Verona was going to be moved up to 2-A regardless; they've got to feel like it's Christmas Day!! This district is probably easier than the 1-A district they're leaving?? They'll compete immediately for that title, where they'd have played for years before thinking of challenging Beechwood. Congrats to the Bearcats!!

District 7 looks to be the toughest district. I wonder how many state appearances are represented from those teams?

Who are the District Favorites year in and year out?

District 1 - Ballard Memorial, Caldwell County, Crittenden County, Murray, Reidland

District 2 - Hancock County, McLean County, Owensboro Catholic, Todd County Central, Union County

District 3 - Butler County, Clinton County, Glasgow, Green County, Metcalfe County

District 6 - Bishop Brossart, Holy Cross (Covington), Lloyd Memorial, Newport, Newport Central Catholic

District 7 - Danville, Leslie County, Lexington Christian, Middlesboro, Somerset

District 8 - Betsy Layne, Prestonsburg, Russell, Shelby Valley

Not meaning to snub anyone just don't know enough about a lot of these teams to make informed decision.

Who are the Favorites in each district starting next year?

I'm more familiar with the Western districts:

District 1 - Murray would be the odds-on favorite. However, this might be the most evenly matched district in the west. 5 solid programs.

District 2 - Owensboro Catholic and Union County should battle for the crown every year.

District 3 - Glasgow and Green Co. are at different level from the others. Butler would be the best of the rest.

District 4 - In the near future, Washington County and DeSales would be the favorites. Bardstown has a great tradition and should be competitive at some point. Ft. Knox has tradition as well and seems to be getting better. CA-L has been good as well. Could rival District 1 as the most competitive district in the west.

I'm not sure contending with NCC for the title will be any easier than Beechwood was in 1A.

They are not in NCC's district. I think he was talking about a district title.

Top to bottom perhaps the most balanced class of the six

Is this for sure the alignment?

Any of the teams in District 5 have to be happy with that alignment. That is about the best alignment geographically and competitively as it can get. All of those teams have a legitimate shot at winning the district year after year.

I totally agree with this. I think every school in this district has to like this. IMO!

I'm a little surprised Union County was placed in the 2nd District and not the 1st. Especially considering that Reidland is going bye-bye in a year or two.

I also thought Butler County might end up in the 2nd District (with Union in the 1st).

I'm not sure it's a big issue either way, just not what I expected.

You are right, I assumed they were in the same district. I agree that this is a good change for Walton.

The eastern half of the state is much stronger than the western. De Sales has to be happy about their placement.
