Orthopedic Doctors in NKY

Featured Replies

I have an appointment with Bilbo of Commonwealth Orthopeadic later this week. Hopefully I'll get good news but I'm afraid that I won't.

Anyone else done damage to their knee before?

Bilbo is a good doctor when it comes to knees. He did my brother's knee many years ago and he hasn't had problems since.

Bilbo was also the doctor I saw when I tore my MCL and meniscus in my right knee. We ended up not doing surgery (let it heal on it's own instead).

When I tore the meniscus in my left knee I saw Bilbo's partner, Dr. Heis, and he was very good as well. Ended up doing surgery and had me setup with a quick recovery time so I could get back to my junior year of soccer.

I haven't gotten the MRI yet. I went and met with the doctor for the first time today. He can't say for sure without the MRI, but it looks like I did some pretty good damage to my Miniscus, and a slight level one strain of my MCL. MRI on Monday.

Commonwealth Orthopedics

Bilboa or Gates

I may be wrong but I think Gates is more of a foot/ankle guy. Treated my sons ankle this season. Not much personality and very very serious. We never had to have surgery but was told by a PT friend of ours that he is an outstanding surgeon. Not sure this is relevant for a knee injury but saw Gates name and thought I'd give you our experience with him.

If that's all it is then you're lucky. Maybe surgery and some PT and you'll be back to 100% in a month tops.

Yeah, when he was doing his poking, there was absolutely no pain anywhere near my ACL, which I was very thankful for. Get my MRI Monday, but won't be able to find out the results until the 19th.

Ha just take it easy until then, they thought I'd reinjured my right knee one time so I went and got an MRI and the whole nine yards. I was supposed to lay low but my knee was feeling alot better after a few days, so while up in Illinois I somehow suckered myself into playing a pick up of hoops. Needless to say apparently my knee wasn't injured but I was still overcompensating some with my right leg. I ended up messing up my right leg in that game. Went to the doctors office when I got home and he was like "why are you limping so bad, your MRI results came back fine" I explained the situation, he laughed and called me a dumb guy(BGP version). Got a new MRI for the other leg and had torn both meniscus, both MCL and my ACL. Needless to say I always advise people to take it easy for a while, just because I learned the hard way that your body can severely over compensate without you even realizing it and that can turn out way bad.

I think you're right, he is more foot/ankle. I disagree on the personality part. But no need to go down that road.

I hope you're ok, but hope your FF team falls on it's face this weekend.

I used Dr. Holloday for both knees and have had family members use him. He is great! I wouldn't go to anyone else.

Got my MRI today over by Thomas Moore. Unfortunately between the doc's schedule and mine, I won't know the results until a week from today. Knee feels like its getting better though, but I know that I still did damage.

I don't think knees are Kremchek's specialty although I think he is top notch!! Save him for tommy-john , shoulders, wrists, elbows and hamstrings.

Any word on the MRI MJ?

Sorry forgot about this thread.

Doc dropped the bomb on me yesterday. Completely tore my ACL.

He said he was in shock when he saw my MRI because my knee feels very tight and all the little physcial tests that they do didn't indicate anything to do with my ACL. But it is definitely tore. Looks like I'm going to need surgery. I'm dealing with some other, very serious personal stuff right now and after that it was like a breakdown. Not pleased lol

Thanks for asking though CC.
