Yes, the official time is kept on the field. The time on the scoreboard in high school is not the official time. Did anyone address this at the end of the game or while it was happening? The officials should have caught it anyway even if no one pointed it out to them.

I'm not sure if that's true. It can be kept on the field if there is a clock malfunction, but I'm not sure the referee is constantly keeping a personal game clock on the field.

I agree. I am almost positive that no one in our area keeps the official time on the field!!! But if you ask anyone, I may be wrong!!!!!

I've always been under the impression that referees have the ability to keep, but don't do it unless there is a reason. It would be nice for one of BGP's referees to chime in on this.

That was my understanding as well...could we please get a ref to give us a little insight on this?

The official crew does not normally keep official time on the field unless there is a mechanical problem or some other reason the official may judge necessary to keep time.

You know TSYOUNG and SEMPERFIFALCON, most of our comments on here are in good fun. Some take it farther than needed sometimes but in the end, the game is settled for us. We have no bearing on the outcome of any game to a certain extent. However I will say this, this district is highly competative, hardnosed, and somewhat up in question every year. Ashame it will be shaken up a little. Regardless who wins the district, it could all change come playoffs. I will stick to my opinion though, whoever wins this district will win Class 2A State Title. I firmly believe that and until proven otherwise, I will continue to support it.

I agree with about that the state champion will most likely come from our district...but it is a hard road with a lot of good teams to beat!!!!

Griffith is heck of a coach!!! IMO
