Cincinnati Smoking Ban and Clubhouse Celebration

Featured Replies

Yes, are brethren from the north are calling talk shows and complaining that the Reds got away with smoking indoors, which is banned in the city.

Seriously, I turn on the radio hoping to hear some stories from people that were there and all positive stories about this Reds team and this is what we get.

"City of Cincinnati, our sports teams are finally legit but we're still morons."

Unbelievable.

I find it unbelievable that my friends who smoke can't at the very least go to a designated OUTDOORS area at Reds games to smoke.

Agreed. While not a smoker and enjoy going to Reds games, bars, restaurants...etc without worrying about smelling smoke. I too believe there should be a designated area, especially in outdoor facilities.

Just said...can't celebrate a great night in Reds history. Instead, they gotta find someone to complain about.

I find it unbelievable that you think the two things are remotely related here.

LOL! Good point...

How are they not? If my friends who were at the game lit up a cigar to celebrate they would have been asked to put it out at the very least. Seems pretty related to me.

So, players who do it one time in celebration are the same as your friends who do it consistently? Wow, you call in to the show?

I'm not condoning the actions of idiots who can't enjoy a great moment for their team, but I'm also not dismissing the validity of their point...that's all I'm trying to say.

I don't see how the amount of times has anything to do with it. But actually some of my friends who were there aren't smokers but I have definitely seen them smoke a cigar in times of celebration. So my question still remains, do you believe that if they lit up a cigar in celebration they wouldn't have been asked to put it out? I personally wasn't there, but I find it hard to believe the ushers wouldn't have immediately asked them to put it out.

Do you not think that those calls were a bit petty? Not in the least? Reds have a victory cigar, haven't smoked in that clubhouse ever, and not in any clubhouse since '95. I think we are being a bit anal here don't you?

Apples and oranges.

There were some fans who were smoking victory cigars in the stands last night, and no one said a word to them to put it out....
