Bears 20 Packers 17

Green Bay's season will be a disappointment if they don't win their division. They should be the best team in the NFC North, and like you, I still think they are despite a loss to Chicago.

I did have one point to make and I just remembered it. Last night, with about 1:30 left, the Bears had a First and Goal and the Packers had one TO remaining. I immediately thought their best chance to win was to let Chicago score and hope they could answer with the time remaining and the timeout. Instead, they let the Bears run it down to the one, run the clock down to 8 seconds, and then kick the shortest possible FG in the NFL to win the game.

Why, in that situation, do you not let them score and give a guy like Aaron Rodgers some time to try to answer? The odds of that happening are much better than something going wrong on the FG. Especially when you consider how NFL defenses tend to get real soft in situations like that. I fully believe had GB allowed the score, at the least, Rodgers could have got them down to the 25 yard line to take a shot or two at the end zone.

I don't understand the reluctance to play the odds in that situation.

You're not the only one who had that thought, it has been talked about on most national sport talk shows today.

I wasn't listening, but I did see them bring it up on PTI last night. I was a little surprised that it wasn't brought up in the post-game analysis on ESPN.

There are only two possibilities...McCarthy is just stubborn and old school and doesn't believe in giving away anything, or he was hoping pass-happy Mike Martz might bail him out with a pass attempt and stop the clock. They should have allowed the Bears to score and took their chances with Aaron Rodgers and an offense that had stopped itself for the most part. In that situation, considering how they'd played up to that point (bend but don't break) and protecting a 7-point lead, you have to believe Chicago will be playing soft so the opportunity to march down the field will be there. And, if they play aggressive, that presents some opportunities in itself, and you have an offense to take advantage of that.

Packers handed that game to the Bears on a silver platter....Even the drunk QB couldn't screw it up for the Bears.

Didnt feel like starting a new thread so figured Id just post it here. LOL Cutler.

NHS, that is a hilarious picture. I have to show that to my brother and Big Spikes.
