Johnson Central 14 Sheldon Clark 12

Featured Replies

Sounds like a good close game.

Final.

It sounded like Sheldon Clark dominated the game for late 2nd quarter on, but couldn't get past Central's bend but don't break defense...

JC had a couple big goal line stands.

JC ran only 11 plays in the 2nd half, 3 of which in the 3rd quarter.

---------------------JC ----- SC

First downs ------- 5------- 20

Passing------ 30------ 53

Rushing------ 118------ 237

Total yards------ 148------ 237

turn overs------- 0------- 2

Looks like SC really played well. Hate for a missed XP to be the difference. I would have liked to have seen this one.

Gotta be able to punch it in at the goal line!

The -only- thing missing from this Cardinal team is the "big play" ability. Without it, they'll continue to be susceptible to losing games like this. Dominating TOP is fine, but it isn't everything.

One of SC's scoring drives was a 20 play drive !!

Kudos to JC's defense in making Sheldon Clark earn every single point. Central OTOH, couldn't drive but had just enough big plays.

Wasn't this supposed to be the year that Johnson Central seriously challenged Highlands for 5A supremacy? Seems like they've had a few close games early on.

Johnson Central seems all about playing close games. I believe they have their toughest game of the season thus far next week going to Bell Co. No offense to Boyle Co. who is very good, but they had Boyle at home and Bell is on the road and I think thats the difference.
