Hopefully the Falcons can get back on track this week against the Eagles and continue their string of Army Bowl victories. I don't think this will be a huge blowout like that last several years, but the Falcons should win by at least 2 TDs.

Falcons by 3 TD's

They should play for the Eagles name (Winner gets to use Eagles).... Fort Campbell is of course Home of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. I know that Fort Know came first and claimed the name Eagles but this needs to change. FC could maybe be the Screaming Eagles and let Ft Knox just be the Eagles or maybe they could just play for the name. Anyway you cut it Ft. C should be the Eagles.

Why Fort Campbell High School selected the Falcon as it's mascot is often debated, especially since a Falcon is usually associated with the Air Force and no self respecting Army Post wants to be associated with the Air Force. Since Fort Campbell is the home of the 101st Screaming Eagles it would make perfect sense to be called the Eagles, but Fort Knox had already claimed that bird of prey. However, the actual reason is that General Don Pratt the 101st Division Commander flew into Normandy on D-Day in a CG-4A WACO glider called The Fighting Falcon. General Pratt was killed when the glider struck a tree upon landing.

FC is going to be just fine this season when they get to playing 2a schools. Central may be a tough one but the rest will work itself out come district. Sometimes the best lessons are the ones that hurt the most. To be a champion also means that you have to learn to lose like a champion...FC has done this. I would assume that some of these kids are a little shell shocked since FC has been so dominent in the past three years. Some of these kids never knew what it was like to lose at the Varsity level. Now they do!!!!

Go Falcons...ours and yours!!!!!!

Good Luck to the Falcons tonight. They need to get their heads about them and fly into Ft. Knox with a mission. Just remember guys...the saying is "you wish you were a Falcon", not you wish you were an Eagle!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That doesn't feel or sound right!!!

Go get em Falcons!!!
