Fox News parent company donates to the RGA

Featured Replies

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, the parent company for Fox News, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post, recently made a $1 million contribution to the Republican Governors Association, a partisan 527 designed to bolster GOP gubernatorial campaigns.

News Corp. also, expectedly, didn’t donate to the Democratic Governors Association.

I know the article won't be popular in this forum but it's hard to see how FOX News can keep the fair and balanced tag after this, not that they've had it in recent years any way.

It will be hard to explain that one away ...

Did anyone not know Murdoch is conservative and that Fox leans right? Why should anyone explain anything away?

I think the comments stem from assertions by Fox, and by many people who watch, that Fox is fair and balanced, in essence, unbiased.

Good for them... At least they believe in the power of free markets... They have also donated lots of money to Dems seeking senate and house seats that feel the same way...

That's interesting. Who are some of the Dems they've supported? I'm at work and can't search.

Chuck Schumer and even Harry Reid are a couple... I'll find some more later..

Harry Reid?! That one surprises me.

$1 million to the Republican Governors Association ... $8,000 to Harry Reid and $5,000 to Nancy Pelosi.

They donated to Nancy Pelosi too? That's really funny! Or, does that include employee donations?

Sounds like News Corp is sucking up to power ...

The fact is Fox leans hard right, and CNN and MSNBC bow to the left. No suprise there. To say they are fair and balanced is not true, although I do think they try harder than the others to show the opposite viewpoint, the problem is the hacks they come up with to defend the lefty position usually get blown away.

Or shouted down and interrupted while they try to make a point ...

If it does they're probably FORMER employees by now.

Or shouted down and interrupted while they try to make a point ...
