Very common at a 1A school. I really hope they only play him at qb.

They need to have him on both sides of the ball if they expect to win any games. I think its a bad move but I get it.

The biggest thing is his conditioning. Last year when playing both ways, he was spent halfway through the 3rd.

Matt played some safety during his senior year. You would think a 5, and 6, A school could find another kid to play linebacker to save these two for the offensive side of the ball.

It may have been safety but they brought him up a lot. He was always in the action.

I heard Pike ran the ball very effectively.

 

I also heard Ryle was quite conservative offensively. Maybe 2 passes total in the first half??

Ryle was very conservative and simply ran the ball all night. I'd say it's safe to assume they attempted 5 or fewer passes on the night.

 

Also heard that Bobby Leonard and #23 for Dixie both had very nice games offensively.

That team pretty much played 14 guys all year. Everyone went both ways.

 

I guess we'll see how Spritzky will handle him in next week's opener. I don't doubt he's the best option at linebacker, or even at end.

Zeke Pike was a beast last night! You can see why all the D-1 offers. He kind of sticks out on the field. lol He saw the field great, passes right on target, elusive in the pocket and great strength. Defensively he was awesome also, blocking 2 passes. Ryle looked very confused on offense out of the gate but Travis Elliot bailed them out with his speed with 2 long TD runs, after fumbling a couple times. I'm sure ryle will work the kinks out. Seth Bruns for Dixie is a blast to watch run the ball. He has major speed, amazing cuts and very elusive. He's my sleeper RB of Northern Ky. I would love to know what Seth Bruns runs the 40 in....Should be 2 very good teams this season with some exciting players to watch on each team.
