I'm with the group who says trade Alonzo. You could throw a young pitcher in there and get a lot in a trade that would help the team a ton next year.

Yeah, if he doesn't buy into the idea I definately wouldn't think about it. Joey's about half nuts, at times. Great player, just a head case sometimes.

 

Couldn't agree with you more on this. He seems like a bomb waiting to explode all the time.

I have no problem with that if you get value in return, but don't just trade him because there is no position for him with the big club.

I'm just saying if it was that easy it would be done way more often. If you are Joey Votto and you are having an MVP type season would you really wanna switch positions in the off season because some kid in the minors MIGHT be pretty good?

 

If your goal as an athlete is MVP's, then yes. If its putting the best possible chance out there to win, no.

We might see Alonso if Votto is out long enough, soooo...
