July 7, 201016 yr Author I like the Lakers chances at a 3Peat if they sign Mike Miller and re-sign Fisher. The Lakers are wanting to pay Fisher half of what he made last year. Basically they are wanting to pay Steve Blake more than Derek Fisher.
July 7, 201016 yr The Miami Heat only have 2 players under contract right now and that is Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasley. With the signing of Wade and Bosh that will give them 4 players under contract. After they sign draft picks and whatever FA's they'll fill the roster. But as of now they only have 2 players under contract. I know. I was adding LeBron and their 3 picks which would give them 8.
July 7, 201016 yr Author I really hope they all 3 don't go to Miami that won't even be fun for the rest of the league. I'm sure the NBA is having mixed feelings about this. I believe the ratings would go through the roof if Lebron signs with the Heat, but I'm sure overall interest would drop because it would be less competitive.
July 7, 201016 yr The Lakers are wanting to pay Fisher half of what he made last year. Basically they are wanting to pay Steve Blake more than Derek Fisher. Yeah. I hate seeing him lowballed but I think ultimately he comes back. The Lakers have a New England Patriots-esque way of doing their contracts but they always seem to find an agreement with money for the important pieces like they did with Odom. I think Fisher will be back. I hope so. Important piece of the puzzle.
July 7, 201016 yr Author Chad Ford is reporting that Wade and Bosh are willing to take less money to help Heat fill out a competitive roster.
July 7, 201016 yr As a Chicago fan, it sucks, but you kinda had to prepare for the "all or nothing scenario" I think the best way it was described was that whatever team got two of the big three or all three if Miami does sign Lebron, that's the same as a grand slam to win the World Series. If the Bulls do manage to get Boozer and an outside shooter or two, it's the same as a single to win the Division title. By no means bad, but obviously a huge difference. Chicago was already a playoff team and if they can sign a decent free agent or two, they could still be a 4 or 5 seed in the East. But considering the large gap between the top 2 or 3 and everyone else is the size of the Grand Canyon.

July 7, 201016 yr How is Miller going to go to the Lakers? They've already used up 4 million of their Mid-level exception. I can't imagine Miller would want to play for the equivilant of the vets minimum, when he can play on another contender for much more and have a bigger role.

Don't know but last weekend there were reports that Mike Miller was signing with the Lakers and the Lakers had to come out and refute the report. I think it was reported as 4 years, 18 million. Keep in mind that Farmar, Brown and Fisher's salaries are all off the books. Farmar and Brown will not be back. Fisher and the Lakers are currently negotiating. Where there is smoke there is fire? Playing for a contender for much more or winning a ring for a little less? I'd take the ring. Miller wouldn't be getting that much more to play for anyone else. He's a sharpshooter off the bench for the remainder of his career.
July 7, 201016 yr No chance if the Heat get all 3. You never know. They are saying the Heat bench will have Kurt Thomas, Tim Thomas and Ron Mercer on it if they sign all 3.

I know they have money coming off the books, but they will be no where near being under the salary cap. Maybe a sign and trade I guess. In reality if you're Mike Miller do you take 3.5 million to play for a contender and get some minutes or do you take 1.7 million and sit behind Kobe on the championship front-runner. MM ain't going to the HOF anytime soon so I personally think he'll take the money some other good team can offer him.

It'd be a great fit IMO.
July 7, 201016 yr I think if LeBron goes to NY with Amare, Miller should look to sign there. It'd be a great fit IMO. He's been at LeBron's Skills Academy this week. I could see him going where LeBron goes. I just hope he cuts his hair.
July 7, 201016 yr Bosh and Wade teaming up instantly makes the Heat a top 4 or 5 team in the East. If they can get LBJ to come to South Beach, I think you have your 2011 NBA Champions. I disagree on instantly making them a top 4 or 5 team. They only have 4 players on their roster.

More than 3.5 also.:thumb: They pulled the offer because he didn't respond quick enough. Hmmm. The Lamar Odom negotiating tactic.
