June 11, 201016 yr I would think Izzo would have to know Lebron would be there to take that job. I don't understand why they don't go after a guy like Jeff Van Gundy. The guy has been to the finals for goodness sake. I'm not saying Izzo is a bad hire should it happen, but as Cats pointed out, he's unproven at the NBA level. He may be great, he may be terrible. Nobody knows. Van Gundy (and he isn't the only one available) has proven that he can coach at the professional level.
June 11, 201016 yr If Izzo does take the Cavs job, money would have to be on Lebron coming back. I can't see taking the job as your first pro job if you didn't know that arguably the best NBA player is coming back to your team. Take Lebron off that team, and they aren't even a playoff team IMHO.

I agree. What would be attractive about coaching in Cleveland if Lebron isn't there? If he wants more money, he could wait and get another opportunity for an NBA job in a better city, IMO.
June 11, 201016 yr JVG would be the guy I would get. He is a great coach IMO. I never liked Van Gundy until his current gig calling games. He cracks me up sometimes. He and Jackson make a good tandem.

I can't stand Jackson, everything he says seems like begging for a coaching job to me. How about get on an NBA bench and learn like the rest of the coaches in the league? JVG is hilarious though. :thumb:
June 11, 201016 yr I never liked Jackson as a player. I thought he was one of the most overrated PG's in the league when he played. But, he's grown on me as an announcer. Like Van Gundy. But, JVG is definitely the better of the two.
