If you ever come to a Brossart game come up and introduce your family we'd all like to meet you. Maybe Brossart will let Maybelle be the honorary bat girl since she played the game.

Wow Maybelle and peaches are excited thanks we will ask. Maybelle was the honorary dunker at the fair one year. She sat up there for hours. This would be more exciting though

Are you and the family going to the Regional next week at Harrison Co.?

Sadly no dude. Maybelle always cooks for the inlaws on Memorial Day. Don't tell her but her cooking isn't quite fair material ya know but I promissed to stick with it til I die so I just hope the cornbread doesn't mean a memorial for the old dog here hehe. Peaches has a date with a guy from Butler and junior has to cut grass

Have a safe holiday little buddy. Thunderstorms Monday watch the flooding down by the river there dog. Why dont you post a family picture we'd like to see all the team.

Best of luck to you all too. Tenth is a very tough Region this year. There is Brossart, Clark, Harrison, Bracken, Fleming, Nicholas, and Mason all with a chance. It could be a seven team race. Of course I have to support my Lady Royals .... We have a boat if it gets wet. Maybelle swam at the YWCA once too

Too funny...I agree with Riverdog (thats scary in itself) Heres the deal. There are three top teams based on their season and strength of schedule Brossart, Conner and Ryle. All are very deserving of being The Big Three and if they played in a round robin for a day or two they'd all be about 3-3 beating each other. All three have great teams and all received two first place votes so why don't we agree to say "Hats off to all three and their teams and fine young ladies for a tremendous season that is still going by the way." Ryle and Brossart didnt get to play because of rain, Conner nipped Brossart 2-1 after an injury and Ryle beat Conner 6-1 the week before. Brossart had more wins (28) and they had been number 1 seven of eight weeks so there wasnt a knockout punch. Good luck to all three in the Region! Walton-Verona also has a nice team

Quick correction here: It was Conner who beat Ryle 6-1 in the last regular season game with each other. I agree that these are the top 3 teams in Norhern Kentucky, but looking at the schedules I have to go with Conner. There was only 1 day when they really looked bad. They played a double header against Ryle and Grant county, lost the games 13-3 and 14-3 respectively. Their pitcher just did not have it that day (walked 10+ batters threw 5+ wild pitches and hit 5 batters) but for some reason the Conner coaches felt that she needed to throw every pitch that day.

Also in the Grant game they made 10 errors. This is a team that averages less than 1 error a game.

Look at the schedules. Conner has held it's own with some of the better teams in the state. Take out the one bad day and they have only lost 2 games by more than 3 runs (Allen County 5-0 and East Central, IN 9-3). I know that I am biased and agree that the coaches polls are less than perfect, but I really feel the numbers favor Conner.

That being said, if they and Ryle make it to the regional final (St. Henry scares me), Conner will have a hard time if they continue to swing for the fences.

P.S. George Rogers Clark is a good team. I think Conner or Ryle could take them. Conner was 6-0 against the 10th region, beating Harrison County and Bishop Brossart, Ryle was 3-0 vs. the 10th.

Of course this is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Good luck to all the teams. We are proud of all of you!

Let's see. Conner did beat Ryle once but Ryle blasted them 14-3 earlier and beat them in District finals. Grant Co. also spanked Conner 13-3. Conner also lost to powerhouse (19-16) Owen Co. 6-4 and slipped by Scott 2-1, Bracken 7-6 and lost to Johnson Central 2-1. They also lost to Allen Co. 5-0, and Anderson Co. 5-2. Brossart pounded Scott 9-1, beat Bracken twice 6-2, 4-2, and beat Johnson Central. Brossart scored 234 runs to Conner's 212 and while Conner allowed 106 runs Brossart allowed just 63. Brossart's 63 should end up being the fewest by any team in either 8th 9th or 10th Region this year.

Maybelle thinks its the Boone Syndrome. When peaches used to go to I think it was that there Cobras games, everyone in Boone Co. area thought they were always better so when a little private school with 300 kids tops the polls from Campbell County they get the stink eye lol. It will be ok guys just admit that 10th Region ball is the best and you'll enjoy the summer. A great coach here in Maysville used to say..."Sometimes you just gotta hang up your trousers and say that there team is a good one."

Really enjoyed, and am enjoying softball this year. Sorry to hear Brossart lost. Keep it up Walton. I think the 9th will end up being Conner and Ryle again. Again St. Henry and NCC are sleepers. RiverDog you need your own comedy show. The Cobras have now been displaced by the Xplosion, but the thoughts are the same. Everyone on those teams thinks they are the cats meow, yet I wait and wait for it to develop into big things downstate. Some play on their high school team to get ready for summer ball-weird thinking, but again-like you said the Boone Syndrome.

First of all is that a picture of little river dog on your profile ? I agree 100% with you about nobody wants to give Brossart ( a small school ) any credit for what they accomplished this year. Not sure but I think Brossart, Conner and Ryle just started playing each other a few years ago. I beleive all the games have been pretty close (even when Allen was at Ryle). I to think it will be Ryle and Conner in the finals. NCC and St. Henry dont have enough offense which will put to much pressure on there defense. Just my opinion

Please do not assume I would not give Brossart credit. They had a very good team this year but I still think Conner had a better team.

Also, BigGreenHorse, you forgot to mention Brossart lost to Scott in the District Final tournament.

Fixing quote

Momma Maybelle always says when freak things occur "Even a blind cat catches a mouse once in a blue moon." That doesn't mean the cat is skilled ya know.
