  1. Thanks for the post sportslady. Nice win for the Dragons. For Conner-is Kring not playing this year or is she hurt?? Kring is out for the season. Shoulder surgery. She will be back for her senior year.
  2. I agree that Toria Fisher will be the go to player. They did lose Kara Taulbee, who may be the best 3 point shooter in NKy, but they have a good group of junior guards. It will interesting to see if Dawn Peacock and Ellery Kring can play up to their potential this season. I think it is a situation where everything will have to click and this team will contend.
  3. The need to run more. They need to press more. They need to take advantage of the speed they have. Not sure that they were playing to their strengths last year. I think they will be much more succesful with Coach Stamm.
  4. Quick correction here: It was Conner who beat Ryle 6-1 in the last regular season game with each other. I agree that these are the top 3 teams in Norhern Kentucky, but looking at the schedules I have to go with Conner. There was only 1 day when they really looked bad. They played a double header against Ryle and Grant county, lost the games 13-3 and 14-3 respectively. Their pitcher just did not have it that day (walked 10+ batters threw 5+ wild pitches and hit 5 batters) but for some reason the Conner coaches felt that she needed to throw every pitch that day. Also in the Grant game they made 10 errors. This is a team that averages less than 1 error a game. Look at the schedules. Conner has held it's own with some of the better teams in the state. Take out the one bad day and they have only lost 2 games by more than 3 runs (Allen County 5-0 and East Central, IN 9-3). I know that I am biased and agree that the coaches polls are less than perfect, but I really feel the numbers favor Conner. That being said, if they and Ryle make it to the regional final (St. Henry scares me), Conner will have a hard time if they continue to swing for the fences. P.S. George Rogers Clark is a good team. I think Conner or Ryle could take them. Conner was 6-0 against the 10th region, beating Harrison County and Bishop Brossart, Ryle was 3-0 vs. the 10th. Of course this is just my opinion, I could be wrong. Good luck to all the teams. We are proud of all of you!
  5. Actually Halcomb usually plays third base when she isn't catching. Very versatile.
  6. Kring is a soph. She's been playing since the 6th grade. This is her third year at Conner.
  7. SS is Soph. Ellery Kring and 1B is Junior Sarah Begley.
  8. The coach needs to be more proactive with the press. Jeff Morgan at SK was and Kayla Morgan was all-state honorable mention. Koors is a good coach but she needs to get the word out on her players. Kelsey Robinson definetly deserved All-state honors.
  9. Taulbee and Kring, the shooting guard and the point guard respectively, played AAU together and they looked really good. With the return of senior Devin Beasley after surgery, Conner's guards will be very strong. If one of the other younger players can develop as a strong post player, they could go far. Four or five of the other freshman played together on an AAU team as well.
  10. From what I saw, which was the whole game, the bad umpipring favored Christian County. Either way, it didn't cost anyone the game. Robinson pitched superbly and Kring hit her second home run of the day. Conner earned the victory in a hard fought contest.
