April 5, 201016 yr Lowe with a shaky 1st inning. Byrd hits a 3-run homerun for the Cubs. Bottom of the 1st the first 5 Braves reach base, Escobar ties game with 2-run single then Jason Heyward hits a 3-run homerun in his 1st MLB AB. Heyward will be a beast in baseball and is already drawing comparison to Pujols at that age.
April 5, 201016 yr If he turns out half as good as Pujols the Braves will have a star in RF for years.
April 5, 201016 yr I'm happy to see Heyward start off the season with a homer. That kid is going to be great.
April 5, 201016 yr Author Nice hustle by Prado on a ground ball play hustling to 3rd, forced throw by Zambrano and goes into outfield, Prado scores. 7-3 Braves in the 2nd.
April 5, 201016 yr Author Solo Homerun for McCann, 2-2 on the day. 8-3 Braves. Notes: McCann hit .500 during spring training
April 5, 201016 yr Author Zambrano finished after going 1 1/3 innings on opening day. Sean Marshall coming into the game.
April 5, 201016 yr Author Maybe Sean Marshall should be starting for the Cubs. He has 5 strike outs thus far since coming in during the 2nd inning.
April 5, 201016 yr Nice hustle by Prado on a ground ball play hustling to 3rd, forced throw by Zambrano and goes into outfield, Prado scores. 7-3 Braves in the 2nd. It was actually bad baserunning where the result ended up being good for the Braves.
April 5, 201016 yr Author It was actually bad baserunning where the result ended up being good for the Braves. Ummmm no? I thought it was a heads up play considering the ball was trickling into RF and they barely got Chipper to begin with. Prado turned the corner and was almost at 3rd when the ball went by. I'm not sure Zambrano would have got him but it was a good play to force the throw. To each their own I guess.
April 5, 201016 yr Author Ball was out but that was a tough call for the umpires. Break for the Braves.

Umm yes, even the Braves announcers said the Braves got lucky. Prado didn't realize that the 2nd baseman had made the play. A good throw by Zambrano and he's out by a mile.
