Steelers' Holmes facing lawsuit

Another member of the Pittsburgh Steelers is facing potential trouble stemming from an alleged incident at a nightclub.

But Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who is facing a civil lawsuit in Florida in which a woman accuses him of throwing a drink at her, says he didn't do anything and expects the matter to be dealt with quickly.

Holmes, a former Super Bowl MVP, told ESPN's Rachel Nichols he has confidence that this matter "will be taken care of quickly, within the next 24 hours." When asked about the specifics of the case, he said "I really don't have much to say about it because I didn't do anything. My lawyer is handling it from here."

It's not like its his first time in trouble....

Holmes was cited for marijuana possession, a misdemeanor, in Pennsylvania in 2008. The Steelers made Holmes inactive for the game following the incident and he subsequently apologized.

He was arrested on a domestic violence charge in 2006 in Ohio, but that charge was later dropped.

Holmes had red flags at Ohio State... hope things work out for him.

Boy the Steelers have stole the show from WHO DEY...

Well, you're innocent until proven guilty.

Holmes' has a past, which is going to hurt him; however, I always have my doubts about charges such as this. It's easy to accuse a high-profile person & see what type of money they might throw your way to make this go away.

Things would have been better if Ben was trying to sexually molest Santonio and he threw a drink in Ben's face.

Pittsburgh ran their last gay quarterback out of town. :p

Hard to come out of the closet with a nickname of Slash. And for the record, I think he'd have been a terrific wide receiver (no pun intended)

And the video of the incident just happens to disappear.:ohbrother:

Well they have Mike Wallace.

Who, to this date, hasn't raped nor spewn anything or anyone.:thumb:

Where did it mention that there was a video of the incident?

I find this story very shady. The ESPN article states that the police would not let her file a police report & that Holmes offered her money because he was an NFL star and could not afford to get into legal trouble.

Dude, relax, it was a joke referring to the Ben/chick/Georgia debacle.

I'm relaxed, just thought I was missing something about the Holmes' thing. I'd love to see a video of him dumping a drink on a girl for not getting up off the couch.
