It's time for the boycott to begin

Featured Replies

When the votes by each school are announced I heartily encourage every supporter of private schools to boycott attending any athletic event hosted AT a public school. Let it start with Trinity @ Fern Creek and St. X @ Male.

I know that you want to support your sons, daughters, friends etc. but we can not allow this travesty to go unpunished. Be there to cheer your team off as they go to the games and be there to cheer them on when they return or even better go to the game site but don't buy a ticket or go in the gate. Do not spend one cent to support any of the schools that voted for this travesty. If you can get comp tickets or if you find a hole on the fence great. Cheer loudly.

If you feel that you can not take that drastic a step then do not patronize the concession stands at the public schools. Do whatever you feel comfortable doing to protest this unfair treatment of our kids.

While your at it, why don't you stomp your feet and scream at the top of your lungs. A boycott is childish and only serves to punish YOUR team, YOUR kids, and YOURSELVES. It's cutting your nose off to spite your face. If you really feel displeasure, tell YOUR private schools to cut association with the KHSAA form your own oragnization and set your own rules.

I think it's about time we show the power of this fully operational spacestation, AKA Bluegrasspreps, and not just chatter about the subject, but create some online signature sheet or something for everyone against it to 'sign'. I would rest assured that it would get over 200 signatures, and we're the FANS. We're one of the most important element of high school football!

I respectfully disagree. Please explain to me your logic because to be quite honest I don't see it.

Another interesting comment! Wasn't it Lexington's PUBLIC SCHOOLS who chose to BOYCOTT Lexington Catholic.

Swings and Roundabouts, Bob, Swings and Roundabouts!

The gate isn't split DIRECTLY when X plays at Manual Stadium, but that gate money goes to JCPS for the rent. What about that?

That's up to X fans. I for one will never, ever pay to go in the crypt on Burnett Street again.

And if my making fun of your stadium hurts your feelings, TOUGH. My civility with regards to Manual is gone.

It's interesting that one person can turn you against an entire institution. With that attitude I don't think you ever had a civil bone in your body towards Manual in the first place. I for one am for the unity of the community, including Manual, St. X, Trinity, and heck, Atherton, God bless em in 3A... or were they brought down to 2A? Power to the 'ville in general.

Again it's real easy to have that attitude when your path to championships (and not just in football) just got a whole lot easier.

Easier = less meaningful/fun/cool/etc.

And I'm sure that Keepers in her infinite wisdom will refuse any shampionship that Manual may win if this travesty does go through.

Next time I take Bev out to dinner, I'll convince her. We have a date set this Friday... I hope she digs White Castle.

But seriously, she's not going to be the Principal forever. And if enough people come her way, I hope she can be convinced to turn to the light side.

The Doc and I have been going out since February of '03, when I sent her a heart shaped valentine with my pic inside and sweet messages written all over it.
