March 13, 201016 yr Pretty much any car from 2008 on has the PBI technology. My 09 Altima has it, and I absolutely love it.

March 13, 201016 yr Clyde, I'm sorry but that story is hilarious! :lol: nees, when I got an automatic after driving a 5 speed for several years, I kept stomping on the left side, too. It took me a week or so to stop doing it! I do a left foot stomp and reach to shift when I'm driving the wife's car. Gets me everytime. :idunno:

Gets me everytime. :idunno: It's been 3 or 4 weeks since I sold my 5spd car, and I caught myself last night trying to press in the clutch when starting the car. Then I drove my truck Wednesday night, and almost forgot to push the clutch in a couple times. I'm still so confused.

March 13, 201016 yr My new Maxima has a PBI...I like it pretty good so far but I do want to get out sometimes without taking the Fob. I also have shifters on the steering column just in case you like changing the gears yourself without a clutch. Or you can do the traditional way...put it in drive and hit the highway.
March 13, 201016 yr Reminds me of stories Dan Patrick has about his Toyota Prius in that he's come out in the morning to go to work, and the car was still on. Because it's a hyrid it was on battery mode, and not making the running noise.

March 19, 201016 yr I was in AZ recently and rented an Altima. First time I have driven a car with the push button ignition. For those of you who haven't had this experience you do not use a key to start the car. You just push a button. You do have a key fob to use for locking/unlocking/trunk but its not for starting the car. I go to the Reds/Indians game and park. Grab my key fob, lock the door, and head into the game. I come out a few hours later to find my car still running. I didn't push the button to turn it off. Out of habit once I grabbed the key chain/fob I guess my mind went into cruise control and didn't think that the car might still be running. Fortunately it was running with a full gas tank. Try doing that without a full gas tank. Not fun.
