March 11, 201016 yr Author No damage to the AC/DC 'Thunderstruck' limited edition was there? That one was OK, fortunately. It had the extra-rare "HS baseball/football remix" version on it, and as you know, you can't just hear that anywhere. I've started to sift through them a bit to assess the damage. There are a handful where the covers got wet enough to warp them — including a rather rare Neil Young bootleg record, which is disappointing — but for the most part I feel like I dodged a huge bullet.

The thought had occurred to me to do it, but it would be a logistical nightmare. I spent most of the evening out there thumbing through the records (damage assessment) and reorganizing the garage. I think I've got it set up now to where if something like that does happen again, I should be OK. I think I ended up with about 10-12 that were damaged, which isn't too bad when you consider how many records I have. It could have been a hell of a lot worse. Getting the worst of it were my copies of "(What's The Story) Morning Glory" by Oasis and "Evil Urges" by My Morning Jacket. Both covers are very warped, but I listened to both records and they seem OK. It did appear to mess up one of the drawers of my desk rather badly, to the point it won't close as the bottom of the drawer is warped. I'm hopeful this desk isn't some rare antique, but I have a feeling it is, considering it came from my grandmother. A number of my personal papers also were soaked. Still, all things being equal, it could've been a lot worse, and for that I am thankful. :notworthy:
