March 5, 201016 yr NFJP -36,000 http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703915204575103172403936754.html?mod=WSJ_Heard_MoreInMarkets#articleTabs%3Dcomments Most interesting excerpt of a comment in the comments section: This is a lost administration. No clear leadership, sloppy legislation, and mostly about arrogance about pointing the finger and saying - "The American people need to understand" - Well understand this POTUS - banks are not lending, mortgages and refi are not happening, there is no confidence in the employed sector, and the jobless - they are becoming wards of the federal governement. ... There is no bounce yet. The ball is just falling slower. Companies are still shedding - IBM layed off over 3,000 this month in the US. http://www.cumberlink.com/articles/2010/03/04/news/local/doc4b8fa863100f1896278874.txt And now governments are having to come to grips with reality. See this article. http://www.sacramentopress.com/headline/22914/Sacramento_school_board_approves_layoffs The board approved Raymond’s plan to lay off about 340 teachers, 60 counselors, social workers and psychologists, about 38 school administrators and five school clerical workers Layoffs of 438 - in just a single California school district. So the headlines and spin today are "Unemployment rate steady - showing that economy is improving". Not yet, not by long shot. Sorry if this seems gloomy and doomy. But look at the numbers and events that tell the real story. Things will get better, but the bottom is still to be reached.
March 5, 201016 yr I heard that the House passed this bill with it paid for as Bunning wanted. Is that correct?
