January 7, 201016 yr One of my biggest gripes is the guys that turn in a blank ballot. Since the election depends on receiving 75% of the vote that really screws players over. I think blank ballots should not be considered in the percentages. Interesting. I didn't know that blank ballots were part of the equation. So, 75% of "votes returned". That actually makes sense to me.:thumb:

If you notice Jay Mariotti turned in a ballot but did not vote for anyone so his non-votes affected the outcome. One of their voters, Lisa Olson abstained from voting and didn't turn in a ballot thus not affecting the outcome. Fanhouse HOF Voting I think writers that consistantly turn in blank ballots should have their voting privileges suspended.
January 7, 201016 yr This entitlement writers feel that first ballot HOF'ers is somehow sacred is just stupid. Either a guy is in or not. Watched last night 2 guys on ESPN2 that both had a vote. He's talking about how some voters lobby for guys and how they could be swayed to change from year to year. How stupid is that? Absolutely retarded. The guys resume' doesn't change from year to year. I agree with LRCW's idea.
January 7, 201016 yr I have a hard time figuring out how Andre Dawson got better and better over the past 9 years. ROY, MVP, 8 gold gloves, 8-time all-star. Those didn't all happen in the decade of the 2000s. He was good enough to get in no later than year 2 of eligibility, IMO. I don't have nearly as much problem with the "I'm gonna vote for him in year 2 and not in year 1" writers (see post above) as the ones who vote for the Kevin Appiers of the world. What are you talking about? Dawson was so-so during '03-'08, but it was in the '09 campaign that he really turned it on and became HOF worthy.
