The Pioneers JV team improves to 7-0 with a hard fought win at Scott County. Big basket by Sampson to tie it and Matt Reilly with with game winning 3 pointer at the buzzer.

 

Scott was big and athletic but their free throw shooting in the last minute and a half was awful, allowing SK to stay in the game.

 

I was suprised to see that Richardson did not dominate for the Cardinals.

Huge win for the SK program.

Great come back for SK. They were down in the first quarter 14 to 4. They fought hard and every player gave a great effort and never gave up. Sampson was big at the end of the game. Great three pointer by Monson to keep them close at the end and a huge three pointer by Riley to win. Every player contributed and did a great job against a tough Scott County

 

I'm not he would have dominated anyway, but Richardson actually injured his knee during football and has only been back about 10 days. The SK game was his first JV game of the year.

Thanks. Richardson did not look like the same player I remember from AAU- thought it may have been the basketball injury but didn't want to speculate.

How'd Swanson do for the Neers? I know he's been seeing varsity time and playing well.

SK has some very impressive young talent. Sampson is going to be a very good one once it's all said and done. Where was the game played?

Swanson played well. Scott ran two bigger guards at him for the entire second half to force the ball out of his hands. He hit a big bucket to get SK going in the first half and had a fantastic assist to Sampson to tie the game in the final minute.

 

The game was played at Scott County.

 

SK has Sampson and Swanson seeing varsity minutes and playing JV. Monson, Bowling and Ayers are getting significant JV minutes and all are freshmen.

 

Scott county's JV consisted of mostly freshmen, I was told.
