*lol*, what was the purpose of this post? I mean come on, someone earlier asked who was elected to the LL board and someone was nice enough to post who they are. IMO this little comment was uncalled for.

 

We could cuss and discuss the what for's, where to's, how come's, why not's until we're all blue in the face. Lets just let the kids be kids and play ball, for whatever league they want and quit trying to influence their decisions. WE could all take a lesson from the kids and watch how they interact and get along with kids from other schools that are not their own and try, just try to do the same thing with other adults who don't happen to wear the same color that we do in the stands don't you think.

Ace....these are the kind of comments that started the split. Your Little League "County" Board Members from last year have decided not to come back. Some decided on their own, others from fear. I don't have a problem with any of the former board members leaving for either reason, I have a problem with starting a league over petty jealousy.

I'm sure your spin will be totally different from mine, and again I don't have a problem with that, but the facts are, principals started it (or at least the word from the board office said they did), the meeting was at the board office, ran by people associated with the board, and a huge portion of the money given to start the league came from board members, or people in the administration office.

Again, when I coached I didn't coach county and city kids. I never drafted county or city kids, I coached and drafted players I felt would help the team. Some of my favorite players I coached were county kids, and I would help them with any problem and time, day or night.

Your 13 city 3 county comment was uncalled for. If your county school system hadn't got mad and took their bat and ball home, the make up of the board would be totally different.

Scuffman, I am sure that you have your own views but I want to add that this particular comment and post in general might be just as damaging(and possibly uncalled for) as anything that has been posted by anyone. I'm sure that you, as well as most people on here know who I am and I dare for you or anyone else to state that there has ever been anyone who wanted to see PLL succeed and supported it as much financially and in spirit, as I have for the last 13 straight years. I assure you, that I personally have not gotten mad and taken a bat and ball home for any reason. You will find out that this is the stance and views that many have also taken . I stated in previous posts in this thread why the reasons for my support of an additional league, and it has absolutely nothing to do with a county/city situation. If you know me , then you know for a fact, that that is fact. I have too many friends and know too many good kids that play ball from both sides of the creek to wish a fine organization to fail.

 

We all know that this would be more than likely a controversial situation, but all I'm saying is to please dont add fuel to a fire, that really doesn't burn as hot,in the manner in which you may think.

That is certainly not necessary. I just wanted to make sure that this does not get out of hand with things being said that could cause unrepairable damage between guys that have been good friends for many years.

I have stayed out of this discussion for a while and have given it a lot of thought! At first, to be perfectly honest, I was upset at the thoughts of PLL taking a major hit from this. I probably offended some with comments as well, and am truly sorry if I did. I guess I was just venting! I have talked with several from both sides of this issue since then and have come to terms with this. I have now decided that, yes, my son is definately going to be affected as he moves up this year in LL and will be eligible for Sr. League. Here is where he will be affected!!! I can't remember who played on the last PLL sr. L team!!! I mean, a regular season team!! PLL can only, and I mean barely come up with a Sr. L. team for All-Stars and they play 2 regular season games to make them eligible for AllStar Tourny play! That is a minimum of three games and a max of about 18 games if they were to win the Word Series!!! That isn't a whole lot of extra baseball to me. If the Babe Ruth L. is able to field 3 or 4 teams for regular season, what are we to do??? I would love to stay faithful to PLL, but I do want what is best for my son, and that would be for him to play as many games of the sport he loves most, as he can! Anyone have any suggestions?

Out of curiousity and seeing how someone was nice enough to post the members of PLL, who was at the first meeting of the new league formation? Anyone care to name those people? I've "heard" of several that were there, but you all know hearing and knowing can be two different things .(If these were already mentioned somewhere else just point me in that direction if you don't mind)

I dont know the exact number that was present at the meeting,but the sign in sheet was approaching 100 names when I signed in.

Absolutely!!! The man got everything out of his players!!! I never new of any player that didn't love him!! I still miss being at bat and looking down at 3rd for a sign and see him there holding that scorebook and a cig. hanging off his lip!!! :lol: :thumb:

Lemon LeMaster was a wonderful coach and kept the Babe Ruth program running for years....I agree w/ Sidelines....looks like both schools' baseball programs have turned out ok.

How about the fist for the "take"!!! those signs never changed!!! and for me that was almost 30 years ago!!

This League will really help with kids age 13-19. Kids will get to play a lot more games. It seems like in Litttle League once you turn 13 there is no where to go. Senior League has had a tremendous amount of success in all stars, but really how many games are these kids in this age group playing before all stars?
