I heard recently he was not playing. Spent the whole year rehabing and has decided it would not be worth risking injury again.

About 10 days ago Dustin still had a walking boot on. He said he had a doctor's appointment coming up but was itching to get on the baseball field. Not sure if anything has changed since the doctor's visit.

He has been in that boot for a long time.

Walton has not won the region since 1993. With that victory I believe they won 7 regional titles out of 14 seasons (79, 83, 85, 86, 88, 90 & 93), but a couple were in the 10th before they were moved to the 8th. I agree it is going to be a while before Walton competes for another region title.

Must have been the 10th region in '79. Shelby Co. was State Champion that year so they would have won the 8th region.

Will he be playing baseball this spring?

You are correct. Many present 8th Region schools ( Gallatin, W-V, Carroll, Henry, Owen, etc...) were in the 10th Region in Baseball at that time. I believe that changed around 1986.

The 8th Region tournament is slated to be played at Carroll County pending inspection and approval by KHSAA. What type of facilities do they have? What is the condition and dimensions of the field?

In the process of putting in a new backstop, last year new walls in front of the dugouts. 315 to 320 down the lines and 355 to center. Lights are above high school standards and close to college.

New concession stand too!

Sounds good! What about bathroom facilities? You know how important that is to moms!

Can some body from Carroll maybe post some pictures of the field so when can get a look at it. That is if the snow will ever go away. Also How did Zack Wise do in football this year?

That would be a good idea. Hopefully someone has some pictures they could post.

Unless they have moved the fences back, I would be surprised if those dimensions are correct. Down the lines maybe. 355 to center, I would have to measure myself to believe it. But yes, it is a nice facility. Played in many 8th Region Tournaments on that field in the late 80's.

Gallatin County should not be overlooked, they won the 31st district tournament last year and only graduated 2 seniors, they have some strong players that have played together for some time Tanner Miles, Jake Giles, Nate Brown, Zac Jones, Holden Rea will be seniors leading the team this year.

He has gotten a lot of attention, but I haven't heard of any offers from a school the size of Purdue.

The word is no D1 offers.
