Owen County 36 Carroll County 28

When Gayheart guarded Devine, Devine only had 3 points and those points were a desperation 3. Holding happens ALL the time on the court both teams and players do it and get away with it.

So Gayheart having nearly half Owens points and being a major part of containing Devine was not a major reason to Owens victory?!:idunno:

How to you figure that?

Holding is still a foul regardless if they call it or not. How are any points scored a desperation, andthey do call it just some crews dont this was one that did not. They play atleast one more time we will see how the outcome of that is.Both players are good for there teams and have been playing each other a long time always a good battle when they play. Both girls are excellent players and still have lots of playing time in front of them good luck to both of them this year and the next 2 seasons

Carroll is a good team and not really that much different than Owen in how they play. If you have watched carroll at all this year you would know they are much better than they played friday night. I think every team has a off night guess this was Carrolls

How lucky for Owen Co to catch Carroll Co on an off night.

If this is a discussion on which of the two players deserves to be POY for the 8th region then so far Devine wins hands down. After five games Devine is averaging 22.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 3 steals per game. That includes games against Owen, Shelby and Walton Verona.

They are both very good and deserving players. It's a long season. Too early to tell right now

I agree, this was in response to NYmoney33 wanting to make this a personal thing between Gayheart and Devine instead of Owen vs Carroll

:thumb: Last night I watched SK - WV and it was 5 on 5 all night. Any one person doesn't come through SK doesn't come back and win that game. TEAMWORK! I have yet to see any player win a game by themselves !

I was simply saying that Gayheart was a major part to Owen's win, but yes most certainly it was a team effort.

Do we really need to idolize a teenager? They are both very good players. Just leave it at that.

I did not intend for this thread to become a debate on who is better Gayheart or Devine. They are both outstanding players. When I posted this thread I just wanted to share with the other members of BGP"s that I had the pleasure Friday night of watching one of the best over all games by a player that I have seen in several years. I saw Gayheart play a few times last year, and was impressed, I was even more impressed Friday. Ms Gayheart you had an outstanding game. The wonderful think about sports is you get the chance to prove yourself everytime you hit the court. Keep working Ms. Gayheart the better player must work harder than anyone else.
